Urban Refugees
While the word “refugee” might conjure images of camps, tents and large movements of people over a border, the transition into actual life beyond the flight is often overlooked. During the peak of the war in Syria, when millions fled the country, this series explores the life of the vast majority of the people who fled war and their country. Most of all it celebrates the resilience and resourcefulness of people whose citizenship is in flux – showing that identity doesn’t come from a piece of paper.
